Activities
The Congo river area is a great place to spend a vacation. There you can do many things including canoeing, hiking, and touring museums and art galleries. Kinshasa, the capital of Democratic Republic of the Congo, is rich in culture. There you will taste the traditional foods, engage with the people and enjoy the atmosphere. It is a great place to learn about the real Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The wildlife is particularly abundant outside of the city and clustered around the river. There are over 230 species of fish, many reptiles including water snakes, crocodiles, and semi aquatic tortoises. In addition, there are numerous species of birds, migratory and native, and a few aquatic mammals including hippopotamuses, manatees and otters. (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2014) You can enjoy canoe and boat trips on the river, and you might spot wildlife. Many also enjoy white water rafting. (White water rafting is not included in this tour.) The city of Kinshasa is rich in culture, and the villages you may visit on our tours are villages not often visited by tourists. This gives you a chance to sample the local culture. The views are wonderful, and untouched. All greens and blues, with the occasional burst of colour, flora and fauna, or in the city, the hustle and bustle of towns. You can tour the city, visit zoos, museums and markets and enjoy the architecture. You can go boating on the river and experience the falls or the bonoboes. You will have a wonderful time here as there's lots to see!
